I’m Joseph.
When asked to tell a little about myself, the standard answer is “Black, Christian, Male… not necessarily in that order.” I’m a nerd, and I love it. I read a lot, write a little, and play video games more than I should. I’m generally handy around the house, but useless in the kitchen. But I can buy a mean cheeseburger!
I’ve got a kid, his name is Xian. His mother and I didn’t get along that well. I got better, and upgraded. The woman, not the kid.
I’ve been working on a novel for a few years now, though I haven’t quite gotten off of page 1 yet. That’s more or less where this blog comes in. If I get myself into the habit of writing again, maybe I’ll become willing to let the words flow onto the page and edit them instead of editing down the thoughts, which has continually left me with empty pages.
I have someone special. I call her biscuit.
She makes me happy, and maybe someday she’ll be Mrs. Biscuit. I think she might like that. She’s an English teacher. She doesn’t like it, but I do, because it reminds us both of how much of a nerd she really is. That means I’m in good company, since I’m a huge nerd too.
